China"s online ride-hailing industry is undergoing regulatory changes, with the China Consumers Association (CCA) acting in response to the growth of ride-hailing aggregators.
This initiative clarifies that it is the responsibility of online ride-hailing platforms to verify driver and vehicle information, not the aggregator, but aggregators may only connect with legally compliant resources.
This regulation comes as the Ministry of Transport grills hailing-app directors over pricing and compliance as a safeguard to both drivers and consumers.
